How Drones Work

Drones combine aerodynamics, lightweight materials, and advanced software to achieve and sustain flight:

Propulsion System: Most consumer drones use multiple rotating blades (like quadcopters) to generate lift based on the airfoil principle. Fixed-wing variants rely on forward momentum to push air over their wings.

The "Brain" (Flight Controller): An internal computer balances the drone, monitors wind changes, and processes real-time steering data from an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU).

Navigation: Onboard GPS modules keep the drone on course, stabilize its hovering position, and enable "Return-to-Home" safety functions if communication cuts out.

Communication: Radio waves (such as Wi-Fi or cellular networks) link the physical remote controller to the drone to transmit commands and stream video feeds.
